The mystery of the fireworks were solved. It was heralding the start of the weekend celebration of San Jeronimo de Mollepata; patron saint of the social civic center across the street. The picture above was taken from my bedroom window.
I guess you could say fireworks and loud music serve as an audible general invitation to the community as opposed to an evite or a hand written invite. Immediate and affordable.
After midnight was the topper. They lit a constructed firework castle. As the 20 somethings like to say in the house, "it was intense."
Today the music started around 8 AM. The marching band has gone by and we were told they are planning to slaughter something like a goat. Cheers!
