Watch Your Back

Well I didn´t think my comment about the camera on Friday would be be a premonition.
Jennifer and I were walking back from the blessings of the animals on Sunday and the town drunk (whose name is Angel if you can believe it) attempted to pull the camera from her front pocket. She said "no", grabbed it back and broke away almost immediately. The whole encounter was probably about 3 seconds. We made a bee-line back to the house. He was drunk and went off in the other direction. We were a little shook up because we didn´t hear him come up from behind us. Both of us realized we needed to watch our back a little better.

This week I am working again in hospice. Many of the beds are on the floor so when you care for the patient proper alignment is almost an impossibility. I continue to run and do yoga in the mornings to help protect my back.

I really enjoy seeing the city working in hospice. On Monday, Courtney, Ceasar (whose wife had a healthy baby boy) and myself were walking back after our last patient and in front of us was the cutest 3 year old boy. He was marching along with a tall corn husk in his right hand and about a 7 foot strand of caution tape in his left trailing behind him. The caution tape was being blown by the wind and kept getting under our feet. He kept looking at us as if we were stepping on it on purpose. He finally ran ahead at safe distance and turned the corner. I don´t know where his parents were.
