I am leaving the usual clothing and toilet articles one does not wish to carry back home but there are a few things of note that I have provided for the house or were gifted to me at one time or another that I am now leaving behind for the benefit of the community and future communities:
Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book from home. This is probably the single most valuable thing of all. It has all the basic information for beginner cooks in the kitchen.
Various Peruvian recipes I have gleaned from Señora Flor and Señora Katy in Hospice
Book for hospice: End of Life: Nurses Guide to Comfort and Care for the Death and Dying
Reference Practice Book for the English Program English Grammar in Use
Ping-Pong paddles and balls which I believe are going to the youth center soon.
Hot water bottle for sick stomachs
Shower Curtain I picked up last December in Texas
Espresso maker
Chef knife
6 Teflon Baking Cups
Stationery
Teas from Home
Calculator
Blood Pressure cuff and Stethoscope (from Shana)
Handbag for community work in hospice (from Lisa)
2011 Nursing Drug Handbook (from Lisa)
Teflon Frying pan (from Lynn)
4 cup Coffee maker (from Lisa)
2 coffee mugs (from Wayne and Christina)
Bathroom Cabinet/ shelf (from Lisa)
Home Improvements that were made in 2010:
Painted the dining room for my birthday in 2010 (Alex, Julie, Jane & Juan Carlos)
Painted the 2 Living rooms (Me, Emily and Kelli)
The garden: Back in April 2010, I donated 1 month's worth of my personal stipend to have the brush cleared and grass & flowers planted back our backyard. I have since kept up with the maintenance of weeding, cutting the grass and flowers myself. We have enjoyed it all year. It continues to evolve and what it looks like at the end of 2011 will be in the next community’s hands. Perhaps vegetables?
